WHOMEVER DOESN'T ADOPT THIS GIRL IS MISSING OUT ON A SWEET SWEET GIRL.
Pumpkin came to us from a breeder and she is very socialized. She is like a velco dog and just wants to be loved loved and more loved. She is so eager to please. She gets along with other dogs but can be intimidated if their are too many dogs. We do not suggest Pumpkin being around children under 5 due to her being so small they could accidently hurt her but she's good with children cause she wants the attention. She is UTD on all of her shots and on Heartworm prevention and Frontline. She is working on her housetraining skills but will need more work. She is crate trained. She is very eager to please so treats at the right time will have her potty trained in no time. She is just now learning to play a little so we think she needs to be with another younger dog to learn to be a pet. If you think you can give this darling of a girl the home she derserves please fill out the application for her.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
