About Ruby2.....IL

DACHSHUND.................PURE/MINI COAT......................SMOOTH COLOR.....................RED AGE ......................2 YRS WEIGHT....................9 LBS ADOPTION FEE..............250.00+10.00 chip fee contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net Ruby2 came in with Peanut but does not need to go with her. Ruby is very very shy and will take some time to warm up. She's just not known a lot of humans before and she's learning that we all just want to love her. She gets along with other dogs, probably cats and older children(over 10). Ruby is very very sweet once she warms up to you. She is house trained to a doggie door but will probably need some work with house training without a doggie door. Ruby really needs a home where she can come out of her shell and be the sweet girl you know she can be. Can you give her that??? She is spayed, had all her shots, dental, heartworm check, fecal, bordetella and rabies. Once she gets to know you then she wants to spend all her time with you and loves to sleep in the big bed or in a doggie bed beside you at night. If you are interested in Ruby come out of her shell please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and put Ruby2's name on it as the one you are interested in. We do require a home visit and out of state adoptions are welcome. If you have any more questions about Ruby2 please e mail her foster mom at the e mail listed above and she'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. We now microchip all or our dog but do have to pass the small expense on to our adopters. We ask that you keep the chip in our name for one year but at the end of that year we'll be glad to give you the information to have the chip registered in your name. Thank you for your interest in a RESCUE.

Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
