About RUSTY3....MO

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
NAME.....................................RUSTY3 DACHSHUND......................PURE/TWEENIE COAT.....................................SMOOTH COLOR.................................RED AGE.......................................2+yrs GENDER..............................MALE/NEUTERED WEIGHT...............................12 LBS ADOPTION FEE..................250.00+10.00 chip fee contact nashcat50us@yahoo.com RUSTY3 was an owner surrender, just didn't have the time for him. He is very friendly, gets along with other dogs, older kids but don't know about cats. He does like to ride in a car and is fine on a leash. He does appear to be housebroken at least to a doggie door. He was neutered when he came in but had to be updated on shots and heartworm tested and put on Frontline. If you are interested in RUSTY3 and would like to adopt him please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app and be sure to put his name on the app. These dogs can never be off leash or allowed to wander as they are fearless and will take on a big dog in a minute or anything else they feel is a threat. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
