What we know about him is he has separation anxiety and he can climb a 4 ft chain link fence if he chooses. Always walk him on a leash or watched in a fenced in yard andhe'd be fine or with someone that's home all the time or works from home or can take him with them to work. He would be fine with children over 12 once he knew they were not going to hurt him. He is more shy around men and children than women. With that said he is the sweetest dachshund and just loves to be with his human more than anything in the world! He gets along with other female dogs but does want all the attention. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash and loves car rides. This doxie is GORGEOUS and pictures don't do him justice and he has to be seen in person so you can see just how beautiful he really is. He is UTD on all shots, heart worm neg and on Frontline and Interceptor and he's ready to go. Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
