He was dropped at a shelter (we think by a breeder) with 3 other doxies. Spencer is the youngest of the 4. He is still very much a puppy. He LOVES everyone & everything. He is not afraid of ANYTHING!!! He is good with kids, cats, and other dogs. He would probably do best in a home with another dog to play with because he is full of energy. Also he may be best in a home with a fenced yard so that he can run off some of his energy. Once his runs his emery out he loves to cuddle. He likes to sleep in a doggie bed beside the big bed. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
