SUMMER MUST BE ADOPTED WITH CASEY THEY CAN NOT BE SPLIT UP!! NO FEE TO A GOOD HOME AND WE WILL DO A HOMEVISIT AND CHECK REFERENCES AND VET...... Summer came from Bowling Green, Ky to us from another rescue. When she got here she had an inner ear infection but we are working at clearing that up. Summer is very very sweet, demand nothing but giving much in return. She loves to sleep in the big bed and just be as close to her human as possible. She loves to cuddle and would make a retired person or couple a great companion. She also loves to ride in a car. She is not a barker. She is housetrained to the doggie door and wouldn't take much to be housebroken as well without a doggie door. She has only half a tail and we don't think we want to know why but it doesn't stop her from wagging it when she's happy. Summer has has a dental, all her shots, rabies, heartworm check and fecal. She is currently on Interceptor and Frontline. If you are interested in making Summer a part of your family please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and make sure you put her name on it. We do welcome out of state adoptions and a home visit is required. If you have more questions please e mail her foster mom at the above e mail address. Thank you for your interest in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
