SUNSHINE2 owner surrender from nashville, tn. We are putting her on the website because we think we know enough about her to list her. She is the Alpha dog of the family, therefore can only go as an only dog or with another male. She is house broken but uses her bathroom skills as a way of getting even for anthing you've done to make her mad!! She does like to bark and is protective of her home. We have tried the squirt bottle on her but it doesn't bother her so we may need to use the pennies in a can. You will have to let her know that you are the Alpha not her. But with that all said she is a sweet sweet girl that is good with kids and her family and other male dogs. No cats. She will be checked out by our vet this week and will be ready to go by the end of the week. If you are interested in this sweet girl and have time to work with her and love her please e mail the foster mommy.
We think best to go to a fenced in yard and doggie door but likes to go for walks too on a leash.
WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
