TIGGER was an owner turn in at our local shelter why we don't know. TIGGER is very very sweet loves to cuddle and sleep in the big bed and cuddle with you there or while you're watching tv. TIGGER gets along with other dogs, cats and kids, so he's an all around doggie. He is also housetrained as well. He loves to go for car rides and loves to go for walks in his harness and leash. TIGGER is very laid back and sweet so if you would like TIGGER to join your family please contact his foster mom listed about for any further questions you might have or if you know you want to make him a part of your family go to our website and fill out an app...www.ssdr.org. We will begin working on your app right away and an app for the dog you want hold that dog in your name until we have done your app and home visit. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
