TINY came from KY as an owner turn in. She is just that TINY!! She is shy at first but will warm up to you and loves to cuddle and sleep in the big bed under the covers!! She is doing great with housetraining and uses the doggie door to go out and go potty. May need further work if you don't have a doggie door but she's eager to please. She does well in a crate and gets along with all the foster brothers and sisters here. She rides well in a car too.
She will be UTD this week on all shots and spayed and already on Frontline and will be put on heartworm prevention once she is tested. If you are interested in making this tiny little thing a member of your family please go on line to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application and please put her name on the application. She is fine with cats and will be fine with children but we are saying older kids due to how tiny she is a younger child could accidently hurt her.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.
More about TINY...TN
Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
