EBONY came in with her sister Sandy and mom Greta (purebred dachshund) from a shelter around Birmingham, AL.  Ebony is a beautiful puppy who loves to play, run, eat and sleep.  She loves attention and will follow you around.  She really enjoys being outside with her foster sisters to run and play and of course find wonderful new things to chew on!  Ebony loves to sleep in the big bed with her foster mom and dad.  She is a beautiful black dachshund mix with white markings on her nose, belly and feet!!  If kept on a regular schedule she will do good at pottying outside but TREATS and consistence is the key to housetraining. Ebony will not be over 15 lbs.  She needs a family that is very active and that will have plenty of time to play with her and it would be great if she could have a furbrother and/or fursister!  Does your family have room for Ebony?

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
