BIO:  Ace came from Western Tennessee when his owners moved and couldn’t take him. One word to describe him would be “HAPPY”! Ace is always happy with his tail wagging. These are the things we want for this sweet boy:

  • No apartments or high rises
  • A fenced yard is a must
  • Another young dog for him to play with, he’s played with big dogs and cats too
  • A busy household is okay, but the doors and gates MUST BE WATCHED because he’ll escape if he sees the chance

Ace has such a beautiful coat of long hair. He would love to lay out in a snow bank or love the cooler weather, this heat makes him pant and look for a fan or breeze to enjoy. If you are a hiker, he could love that as long as you keep him on a long lead line or 6 feet leash. He cannot be off- leash and because he’s got dachshund in him, you won’t be able to train him to stay by your side.

If you are looking for a happy, playful fun boy then look no further... you’ve found him right here!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
