SNOOPY4 IS A SPECIAL NEEDS HE HAS A HEARTMUMUR THAT HE WILL HAVE TO TAKE MEDICATION FOR, FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE, BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP HIM FROM BEING THE SWEETEST BOY THIS SIDE OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER!!
SNOOPY3 has a story to tell. First owners kept him in a horse barn with his wife cause the husband didn't want them in the house. Well SNOOPY3 and his wife didn't know any better so they lived like that until one night a coyota got his wife, how or why they didn't get him we'll never know. Then since they didn't have the female anymore to breed and sell the puppies they gave him to another couple that had never had dachshunds before and they kept SNOOPY3 in the laundry room but for some unknown reason he bite the husband and now he was passed over to us cause they were afraid of him. IF THE TRUTH TO BE KNOWN THAT IS WHEN SNOOPY'S LIFE TOOK A TURN FOR THE BETTER AND WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN IT'S EVERY BEEN. He came here into rescue and the first thing we couldn't figure is why he would bite. He is the sweetest sweetest long hair we have ever known, very laid back and likes to sleep in the doggie beds on his back with his feet straight up in the air. He is always wagging his tails when he spies you watching him. He is housebroken and runs outside as soon as he has to go. He does have a heartmumur from the heartworms but he could very likely live a long and happy life. He is just happy for any little scrap of love and attention you can give him. He does like to wander the yard but mostly he wants to be in the same room you are in. He think he would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. No apartment for this little boy. Fenced yard and doggie door would be best with a female for a companion or by himself and SNOOPY3 would be in heaven. WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
