BIO:  Due to their recessive coloring (Blue/Tan Piebald and Isabella/Tan) Emma and Pippa will not be adopted to any state other than Florida

These precious little girls came into rescue due to a toddler in their family. Unfortunately, this is often the reason families surrender their doxies. Emma and Pippa are beyond sweet and are as lovable as can be. It would be wonderful if one family in Florida adopted both of these girls, but we will consider two families IF each adopter has another dog. Obviously, Emma and Pippa are used to the companionship of another dog. They are enjoying the company of their foster brother and sister, too.

What these girls need in their adoptive home:

  • No apartment or high rises
  • A fenced yard is a must, no exceptions
  • Someone home a lot as they enjoy human contact
  • No other dog is necessary if they are adopted together but if you only want one of the girls, then you must have another small dog
  • Florida adopter due to their recessive coloring which causes thin coats (alopecia)

Emma LOVES to be with her person. She is very quiet and so adorable with her unusual blue and tan piebald coat. Sadly, Emma lost all 31 of her remaining teeth when she had her dental. That does not stop her from enjoying every morsel of her softened food! She is on special diet kibble (softened and pulverized) while her gums heal and she loses 2 more pounds. Looking on the bright side, she’ll never have to have another dental! Oh, she does snore a little at night, but it’s very cute!

Pippa is full of life! If we didn’t have her date of birth, we’d swear she was only 5-6 years old. She would be so happy to have a playmate. She never meets a stranger, she LOVES everyone. She is friendly, friendly, friendly! Pippa lost 6 teeth at her dental including two upper canines. She loves mealtime and is first into the crate to wait for dinner to be served! While her gum flaps heal, she is eating softened kibble.

If you’re searching for sweet, friendly, and lovable doxies, Emma and Pippa are who you've been looking for!

More about Emma and Pippa in FL

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Prefers warm climate, Affectionate, Even-tempered, Needs a companion animal

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
