BIO: This handsome guy is Steele, a 5-year-old blue and tan smooth dachshund. Steele is the perfect name for him because of his coat... a beautiful silver color, very unusual. He’s a little skittish at first but warmed up to his foster family quickly and is enjoying the company of another dog in his foster home. He enjoys going outside and running around in the backyard and rides well in the car. Once Steele gets to know you, he wants nothing more than to be with you and will follow you around. And if you sit down, he will be right there ready to keep you company. Steele would make a great addition to a family with older children - or no children - that is looking to add a loving dog to their family.
Our wishes for Steele include:
- A fenced yard
- Another smaller dog for him to hang with and keep him company if you have to go out
- No apartments or high-rises
============= Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $55 fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
