BIO:  Susie Q and Snoopy were given up due to their owners move into a new place.  The owner at that time gave the two buddies to her parents to “watch” until she could find a new place.  After months of caring for the two dogs the parent of the owner then surrendered the dogs to a shelter because they were no longer able to care for the dogs.

Susie Q (8 yr) and Snoopy (6yr) have been together for more then six years and are buddies.  We would like them to be adopted together into a forever home.  Snoopy does fine with cats in the house but I am told that Susie Q does not get along with cats very well.  A home with children and/or other dogs would be fine.

Susie Q came with two cherry eyes which have been fixed.  She also had some dental work done.  Both are UTD on all vaccinations.  Snoopy came very overweight but with his foster mother’s help has slimmed down a bit.  Someone who can keep an eye on his weight would be a good fit for him.  They are both currently using a doggie door and I have been told are not having any accidents.

Do you have room for two new furry friends?

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Suzie Q...CA

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
