BIO:  Gabanna came from Mississippi when his owner sadly could no longer care for him and reached out to us to find him a new home. This was very difficult for the family, but something that had to be done.

Gabanna is toy obsessed! Give him a ball and he’ll bug you to play with him all day. If he gets it under something, he’ll whine until you get it out. He is a great, friendly dog, though he loves his toys and really doesn’t want to play with other dogs.

Our must-haves for adorable Gabanna include:

• To be an only dog
• A fenced yard
• A very active person or family
• An adopter who works from home
• No apartments, high-rises, or condos

These requirements are non-negotiable as we want the best home for him to meet HIS needs.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
