BIO:  Aloha ladies! Are you still searching for that perfect guy? Well, look no more. Parker here! I’m also looking for that special someone for a long-term (as in forever) relationship. I love chillin’ by the pool, relaxing on the lanai with an umbrella drink or two (non-alcoholic, of course), going for a sunset walk on the beach, snuggling in the evening to share a good book or movie, and I’m always ready for a cozy nap. Do you enjoy these simple pleasures? If so, I would love to hear from you and possibly share the rest of my life.

From my foster mom: Cuteness overload here! Meet Parker, a handsome, happy, tiny gentleman in search of a caring adopter who wants the unconditional love of a devoted companion. Parker’s tail is ALWAYS wagging, and his tongue usually protrudes since he has lost all his teeth. Having no teeth does not stop this boy from enjoying every meal; just soak and grind up his kibble, and he’s a total chow hound!

Parker was found as a stray in east Tennessee. We’re going to guess that his owner died or went into a nursing home, and no family member stepped up to take him. Parker LOVES his person! He wants nothing more than to be near you 24/7... in your lap, at your feet, in the Big Bed, or in a dog bed next to you. AADR was happy to bring this wonderful little guy into rescue and get him a complete dental (his teeth were a mess!) as well as treatment for heartworms. Parker will be neutered on Valentine’s Day and then will be ready to go to his forever home. Is that you?!?

Our wishes for little Parker include:

  • Someone who is home a lot
  • A fenced yard or lanai for sunning
  • An adopter in Florida
  • He can be an only dog

You can contact Parker’s foster mom (meg1709@comcast.net) with any questions. She’s glad to share how AMAZING Parker is!

 ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.
