Jack is a very loving and adorable puppy.  He loves to play with all sorts of toys and especially loves chewing bones. He loves attention and will curl right up on your lap for a nap!  Jack is a very happy puppy that loves to explore around the area and will take any chance he gets to go outside; even in the snow!  Jack likes to meet new people and also does well with children, even under the age of 2.  He is a very handsome boy and tries to use his cuteness to his advantage; especially for treats!  Either bringing you a toy to throw or jumping right up on your lap Jack loves being around people and the attention he gets from them!

Jack is crate and leash trained.  We have been working on house training, but he still needs a little help.  He does get the concept of going outside, but needs work on letting you know he has to go.

More about Jack...NJ

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
