HERCULES will never be able to have shots due to an autoammune disease that he has that when given shots his body attacks the red blood cells in his body. We have got his red-blood cell within normal range and now we just need to monitoy him to see if they stay there if not he may need to be on meds for life. The vet that has been treating him will type up a letter letting the adopter and future vet know what his condition is and why he should not have shots. For this reason we want to keep him within the state of TN and no other adopters will be considered unless you realize down the road you may have to have him to your vet for this condition. HERCULES IS A VERY LOVING BOY. HE LOVES ATTENTION AND WE NICKNAMED HIM LOVER BOY FOR THAT REASON.  HE HAS JUST REALIZED WHAT TOYS ARE AND BOY DOES HE LIKE HIS LITTLE BALL AND STUFFED ANIMALS. HERCULES LOVES TO PLAY WITH HIS FOSTER BOTHERS AND SISTERS.

HERCULES IS A BEAUTIFUL PIEBALD DACHSHUND ON THE INSIDE AND OUT HE HAS A GREAT TEMPERMENT. HE GETS ALONG VERY WELL WITH MY BIG DOGS ALSO, HE TENDS TO CHASE CATS THOUGH.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
