BIO:  Look at that sweet face and he will tell you in no uncertain terms he’s CUTE. He came from OH when there was a life style change that was not best for him.

Smokey is friendly and happy to see anyone that will pay attention to him.

When he was a puppy, he fell off the bed and injured his hip and had to have his hip ball removed but that does not affect him in any way. The surgery is called a Femoral Head Osteotomy and it was  on the right hip. Please do not let that stop you from adopting him because that would be your loss.

In his picture he looks a little ragged but we are getting him groomed very soon for his new foster home, could that be you?

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
