BIO: Boop came from Alabama and was rescued by a Good Samaritan when someone close to her owned her and was yelling and throwing things at her when she would bark. Dogs Bark!! She was mostly kept outside and she’s only 10lbs, why, you ask, who knows, but we are so glad the Good Samaritan stepped in and asked if she could take her and find her a good home.
With all this being said, this little girl has to learn to trust and it’s going to take someone with a lot of patience and love and more patience to show her that she is safe and loved. That is where you come in. Do you have the time to show her what love is like?
She has opened up to us here in foster and it took her about 5 days to learn that we meant no harm and we were here to love her and feed her and keep her warm.
Are you up to this challenge or have the experience with a fearful dog and want to add to your pack?
Our must haves for her are:
- A fenced in yard is a must
- Another young small well socialized dog for her to learn from
- Someone that can be home more than not
- No apartments, high rises, or condos
Once this little girl settles in and knows you, she will be the sweetest little girl because she will know that she has the best home. And as you can see, she does not know personal space once she gets comfortable in her surroundings.
============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
