BIO: MS COCO was listed on Craig List and a family got her for some friends, the friends backed out and they dumped this pretty little girl in a shelter, lucky for her they didn't put her back on Craig's list. MS COCO is a slow to warm up to you and warms up better to women than to men so if you are a married couple just know that she will prefer the wife over the husband. When I went to the shelter to get her she wasn't sure she was going to like me but then they put a leash on her and put her down and within 5 mins I had her offering up her belly for a rub and 10 mins she was in my lap. She still isn't sure about her foster dad and he just gives her distance cause he knows she'll come around. When we got her her coat was very dry but we are giving her a much better grade of dog food and can already see it start to improve. This little girl is very very sweet and walks great on a leash. please watch the video she will is a doll and won't be without a home long we hope.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
