FOSTER HOME (NAME, CITY & STATE, ZIP, EMAIL) Carol, North Alabama, Decaturcl@aol.com

Inga was turned in by her owner who was overwhelmed with small children and a dog to care for. Well, we are certain it was the children that did the overwhelming, because Miss Inga is a sweetheart and is little trouble at all. She is happy just to hang out with the family, have a few meals a day, and some playtime is awfully nice! Inga is an all-around sweet girl, great family pet, and just needs consistency and a schedule to keep her lady-like house manners. Inga absolutely loves other dogs---submissive, but playful---and a fenced yard for playtime would make her oh-so happy! She would be a super companion for any brother or sister. And Inga would easily would follow the housetraining example of a well trained sibling easily and be the ultimate play mate and snuggle buddy. Inga is GREAT sleeping in her crate at night and/or while her foster mom is away. She goes to her crate and you won’t hear a peep out of her!

Inga is red with a black overlay and has has a slight brindle pattern to her coat. She has a beautiful dachshund head, but has legs that are a little longer than most dachshunds. We just look at this as an asset that makes her more agile and able to handle stairs better than the “low riders”! If you think Inga would make a great addition to your family, please complete an application ASAP! For questions or to request additional pictures, email her foster mom, Carol at Decaturcl@aol.com.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about INGA...GA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
