he was adopted in May of 2010 and was a perfect little baby boy to his parents for 3 1/2 years and that he will be greatly missed.
They loved him so very very much...he knew he was loved and had the best life of any dachshund...RIP sweet sweet Snickers.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Snickers came from a GA breeder and the lady in KY bought him because she felt sorry for him because he has a skin issue. Then she surrendered him to the shelter in Hopkinsville when she thought it was going to cost more to vet him than what she was willing to pay. So he's now in rescue and his skin is all cleared up. Just needed medication for a month. He's not ready for his forever home. He's a very sweet boy the lady in KY had grandchildren and he was fine with them. He's not aggressive to any one or thing and is just the sweetest boy. Very laid back, likes to sleep in doggie beds next to his foster mom where ever that may be. Not a barker. This boy would make a great dog for a new dog owner that's never had a dachshund before but likes the breed. He would do better with fenced in yard as he has not been leash trained but he would be easy to train. If you are interested in him please contact foster mom with your phone number and she will contact you to discuss him.
