BIO:

Buddy was surrendered by his family because they got him for the 8 yr old son and when sports started this spring they didn’t have time for him anymore so he had to go.  Buddy is a very very sweet boy and very submissive to the other dogs both male and female. He is very laid back likes to play but also likes to cuddle. He is doing very well on housetraining but whomever adopts him will need to continue to be consistent with him and he responds well to praise. He Would be fine with kids over 5 that know how to treat animals. We think he would benefit a home with a fenced in yard and another younger dog for him to play with and for companionship. He is crate trained.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE

More about BUDDY...NJ

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
