BIO:

Oliver is a perfect companion! He absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES balls, kongs and toys! And what a perfect snuggler at night!! Who wouldn't want a sweet little baby like this?

ALI came from a home that could no longer keep him because of health issues but she took him from her son whose step kids were abusing him. Kicking him across the room and hitting him with their fists were a few of the things they did to him. He suffered that abuse for several months before the mom stepped in and took him. For this reason we say no children, he is fine with them if they take their time letting him get to know them but WE don’t want him to relive his past so therefore “NO” kids.

Ali LOVES to play ball either with you or by himself and he loves to chew on kongs and anything hard and round. He does not chew anything that is not his but he loves his toys. He is house broken and would love to go to a home with a fenced in yard because he enjoys being outside with our without you. ALI is just an all round nice guy. He’s great with men and women and loves to sleep in the big bed right in your arms or right next to you all night long. If you are looking for a companion than ALI is the one for you. He would do better with another dog because he does have a bit of a separation problem but has gotten better since being with us. We do crate him when we are gone either with his toy, Kong or with a rawhide that helps. Please give ALI a last forever home, he truly needs one.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about OLIVER...TN

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
