BIO: Brunie is an owner surrender, her owner was placed in a nursing home due to advanced Alzheimers, she had the dog since she was a pup. Brunie is a very quite and sweet little senior gal. She enjoys her walks and has a real pep to her step, she never barks, loves to cuddle on the couch, sleeps in her crate with her special blankie. She is on a special diet due to past kidney stone issues, but will eat regular food when the other dogs walk away from their dishes and loves soft treats. If she wants something she will come to you and whimper never bark. Very low maintenance. Would be perfect for an apartment or a house. She is a very special gal and deserving of a forever home.

More about Brunie...CT

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
