BIO:

Demi was saved from certain death by a good Samaritan. She was running down the side of a very busy road and if the lady had not stopped  Demi would not be here now. They tried to find the owner but no one came forward so we were contacted to see if we would take her. Demi was good with the ladies kids and she’s good with the other fosters here. She is truly a very sweet sweet girl and we can’t imagine why anyone would just turn her lose to wander or drop her off somewhere. She loves to sleep on the back of the couch put high were she can look down on the rest of the world. She is just a little shy at first but warms up quickly and settles right in to the house and routine. She does appear to be housebroken and uses the doggie door here and is fine in a crate as well.

If you are looking for a mini of a girl and someone to grace the back of your couch and not a barker, she would be the one for you. Please fill out an application this little gem won’t last long.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about DEMI...MS

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
