BEING FOSTERED IN LEWISBURG, TN

KASEE came to us as a stray a couple of months ago from our vet's office. We felt it would be best to put her into a all-breed rescue and they found her a home. Problem is, that home doesn't know about dachshund personality and they let Kasee run the house. Not only does that make for an uncomfortable situation for the adopter but also confused Kasee. After she tried to bite the wife, they decided to take the easy way out and give her back instead of trying to change her behavior . The good news is they didn't just dump her like some people would. KASEE is now up in INDIANA but will be coming back here to TN to find her LAST forever home. KASEE is very, very sweet and is good around older children as long as you let her know that YOU are the boss. She needs a firm but loving home and one that is experienced with dachshund ATTITUDE. If you have that home, then KASEE is the dog for you. She is sweet, loving and housebroken. She gets along with dogs and older children but don't know about cats. Please give KASEE the home she REALLY deserves and stop her state to state travel in search of love!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
