HELLO EVERYONE MY NAME IS MS. PEANUT AND I'M VACATIONING IN CHAMBERSBURG, PA. I REALLY LIKE IT HERE BUT WOULD REALLY LOVE A HOME OF MY OWN. I'M A LITTLE SHY WHEN I FIRST MEET YOU BUT WARM UP QUICKLY. I LOVE TO SIT ON MY FOSTER  MOMS LAP AND SNUGGLE WITH HER AT NIGHT IN THE BIG BED WITH THE OTHER DOGS. MY IDEAL HOME WOULD BE A HOME WHERE THERES ANOTHER SMALL FUR- BABY(LARGE DOGS SCARE ME) WHO I CAN PLAY WITH IN A FENCED IN YARD. I LOVE PLAYING WITH TOYS, NAPPING ON THE BACK OF THE COUCH AND SUN BATHING. FOSTER MOM TELLS ME THAT I'M A GOOD GIRL WHEN I POTTY OUT SIDE SO EVERY TIME SHE SAYS "PEE PEE GO POTTY EVERYONE " I'M AT THE DOOR. IT'S SUPER FUN HERE, THERE'S LOTS TO DO. WELL I MUST GO IT'S NAP TIME AND I WANT TO GET TO THE COUCH BEFORE THE OTHER FUR KIDS GET THERE. PEANUT was turned into a kill shelter here in TN, owner surrender. Could not keep her due to medical expenses with another dog they had. She is very very friendly and gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. We were told she is housebroken but with any dog going to a new home you must expect accidents until they adjust to YOUR schedule. You must give them from 2-4 weeks without they and you are doomed to fail and the dog will get returned to us. From what we can see having her she is just about as perfect as they get for a dachshund. Please fill out that app today to adopt this precious baby.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
