Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Ozzie, a red dachshund at 5 yrs old, he is a youthful as a puppy with always a goofy smile on his face. He is always ready to fetch a ball or just lick your hand all day. Actually if any part of your body is in reach he will lick it until you stop him. He is also a lil on the heavy side at 20lbs(now down to 14) and he seems to be loosing some of that weight too. His only flaw is he pees when he is excited,(we are working on this and he is doing very well) like when I come home. He is getting better at not doing this, but for the first week or two until he is used to you, this might happen.
OZZY is a very friendly boy that deserves the best of homes, he is completely housebroken and we think would do best with another dog to keep him company while you are gone so he doesn't get lonely. He was given up by his owner along with Clyde when she had to work too many hours and they were staying by themselves way too long. If you adopt Ozzy he will be happy to play fetch with you and help you and him to stay healthy.
When you adopt Ozzy he comes with a few toys, collar and his leash and lots of kisses for FREE.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
