BIO:  Tilly was found as a stray in MA.  She appears to have had a rough life if she could only tell us her story, I am sure that it is a sad one.  She is a sweet little girl and loves attention.  She is pretty laid back, but lately has been starting to play with the other doxies(3 adult males and one puppy).  She has been getting along well with the two Rotties that she lives with now, so I am sure that she will get along with other dogs.  She does like her space and they are respectful of that.  She does not have a problem with telling them when they are 'in her space'.  There are also cats in the house, but they keep to themselves.  She appears interested in them and not sure if she would chase them or not.  I am not sure how she would do with small children, as I do not have any.  She does have a sweet demeanor, but not knowing her history, I think that she might  not trust small children as they tend to move too fast and  might scare
 her. If you
have any specific questions, feel free to email me. Tilly is patiently waiting to be part of your forever home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
