FOSTER HOME  Jessica Wall - Greenville, SC - jessicawall2008@yahoo.com

** Buttons will be attending Bark in the Park in Greenville, SC on October 30th. Email her foster mom for more information! Come meet Buttons and many other dachshunds looking for their forever homes!

If I could describe Buttons in just a few words, I would say Loving and Devoted Companion. Buttons lived her whole life with a family here in Greenville who loved her very much. They took her to the vet regularly and treated her like a member of the family. Because of this, Buttons is a very well mannered and healthy little girl! She has a beautiful set of white teeth and is a good weight. She can see and hear just fine and is very active for her age. She keeps up with the other dogs in the home and she is very alert. She knows the word "walk" or "outside" and gets very excited if she sees her foster mom going to the closet with her leash. She goes right to the door and can hardly contain herself she is so happy!

When she isn't checking out the smells in the backyard or barking at those pesky squirrels, Buttons just LOVES to sit on her foster mom's lap in the evenings or to snuggle up and look out the window. She has only been at her foster home for a week and already she fits in just fine. She loves to follow her foster mom around sometimes and other times she is content to just relax in her bed and enjoy the sun shine.

Buttons is completely potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She loves to burrow under blankets and will sleep in her doggie bed next to the big bed at night (although of course she wouldn't mind sharing the big bed either! She is a great snuggler!) SHe also loves car rides and wouldn't mind going every where with her person, although she is fine at home by herself as well.

Buttons is very friendly to everyone she meets. She does well with other dogs but she would also do great as an only dog! She doesn't mind at all to have all the attention to herself. She is leash trained and also does well in a fenced in yard so either works just fine!

Since Buttons enjoys the quite life, we recommend no small children or a home with many young and hyper dogs.

As you can see there isn't anything negative to say about sweet Buttons. Her beautiful big eyes promise that she will be the most loyal companion you will ever have. All she wants is a warm home where she can have her very own family to give lots of kisses and snuggles!

If you are looking for a  trained, healthy and happy doxie than Buttons is the girl for you!

More about Buttons....NC

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
