FOSTER HOME (NAME, CITY & STATE, ZIP, EMAIL): Barbara -  barbara.locy@assurant.com

BIO:

Oscar is a very sweet dog.  He loves to run around a secure yard and play chase with his foster brothers.  He does well with the older big dogs here at his foster home.  He snuggles with the other doxies and humans in the house, enjoying playing with toys and chewing bones.  He loves to be outside but only if his human is outside with him.

He came from a chaotic home so he tended to mark everything.  Now that he is in a much more stable environment he is not marking nearly as much, plus we have him in belly band until he is secure.

Oscar would be great in any home, kids (10 and up), fur kids and men and women.  He doesn’t have any fears or anxieties that I know of yet, except for yelling.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

Fee r the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Oscar 10...NY

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
