My name is Tucker, nick name Chocolate. I have it on good authority that I am “SIMPLY PRECIOUS”. Now I don’t know what that means but I keep hearing it when people are hugging on me. My foster mommy says I have velvety fur. I am a little on the small side but don’t let that fool you I can still snuggle as good as a Great Dane. I am good with cats and potty trained. Even without a doggie door I tell my family when I have to go potty. I would love to go to a home where I will have other 4-legged friends to play with. I get along with most everybody. I love men but I do warm up to females. My foster mommy is a Licensed Dog Behaviorist. She is working with me on warming up to everyone. She says I am doing great. I love snuggling, tug of war, fetch, sitting, car rides, belly rubs and baths. My favorite game is the “I’M GONNA GETCHA” game. I don’t mind having my nails clipped. If you said AWW when you pulled my profile up, then I am probably the dog for you. Wouldn’t you love to snuggle with me during the cold winter nights? I know I would love to snuggle with a forever family.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about TUCKER...MD
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
