Katie and her 9 wk old puppies were an owner surrender. She has " just weened her puppies" and hasn't been to the vet yet for her shots and spaying but will be completely vetted before going to her forever home. Katie was a very loved and cared for girl and it shows in her behavior and personality.  She was raised in a home with other dogs and has done great fitting in with my doggie family. Katie is very playful and loves for me to throw a toy for her. She loves to sleep in the big bed with me and is so cuddly!! Katie is a lap baby, and as soon as I sit down on the couch, that's where she gets. She's very affectionate and gives kisses any time I ask. I just adore this beautiful young lady and know she will make a perfect addition to her new forever family. Katie will be ready for her new family as soon as she can have her shots and is spayed.

More about KATIE...CT

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
