FOSTER HOME kathymartine@cox.net

Star is a beautiful puppy! Her fur is chocolate with brown spots in it that look like stars! She is a darling little puppy and will be an amazing pet! Are you ready to spoil yourself and get a dachshund? Fill out an application ASAP because Star won't be here long!

Star's mom came to the AADR pregnant from a MO. puppy mill.  When the new law passed in MO limiting the amount dogs breeders can keep, they begin dropping them right and left.

Mom is a red smooth-coat girl, she is about 12 pounds, I have to guess at reg weight, as we have only had her pregnant or nursing.  She is a very sweet girl, came to us a bit fearful, but has warmed to be a very loving dachshund!  Her pups just love people as they were born in her foster mom's bedroom closet and have had daily hugs and kisses!

Star is very  friendly, playful and full of energy!

More about Star...NY

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
