BIO

Moe came to me in May 2011, after a breeder surrender, and a short time in another foster home.  He is a real champ!  He is totally housetrained, and an all around good dog.  Actually, he is one of the best dogs I have ever had the pleasure of knowing (and I’ve had many).  He is good with everyone, other dogs, kids and probably cats (though I don’t have one).  He had to take steroids one time for a sprained back issue, so I find him hesitant to climb steep, long stairs.  He is fine with a few stairs though.  He is very affectionate *who said dachshunds are aloof”?  If allowed he’d be a total lap dog.  He’s calm and cool, not at all hyper.  He would make a great companion!

More about Moe..NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
