BIO:

When I took Badger into foster care I noticed he didn’t really look you in the eye. I took him to the vet for his checkup and our vet confirmed that he does have minor visual impairment. He can see objects but just not super defined. He does not run into furniture or walls or anything like that. You might mistake Badger for being face shy or timid when in fact he just can’t see you very well. Badger also just recently had 19 of his teeth removed. He has recovered very well from his dental and is able to eat dry kibble now. He will need an owner who will help him and be patient with his disabilities. Badger also needs to be in a home where no other dogs will try to be dominant or aggressive with him. Badger will do best in a home with older more quiet children. He lives in an extremely active environment right now and does very well. He interacts with other dogs, large and small as well as horses, chickens and outside cats. Badger is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle with his human friends and his fur friends. If you have any questions regarding Badger please email or call me and I would love to talk to you about Badger Boo.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about Badger...CA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
