BIO:
Are you looking for a quiet girl that just wants to sit in your lap and enjoy the day? Are you looking for a girl that will go everywhere with you and not be any trouble? Well if you are then Tulula is the girl for you. She came to AADR when we were contracted that she had bladder stones and the family could not afford the surgery and were going to put her to sleep. We knew that the surgery and a special diet going forward would prevent the stones from coming back so we said we’d take her and get her the surgery she needed.
She’s back on her feet and looking for her forever home. She’s a little shy at first, did better with foster dad because he was around more than foster mom but is just fine with both now. She loves to sit in your lap while you watch TV, read or just enjoy a quiet moment, she’ll be right there with you. She is not a barker and would be fine as an only dog or with another or two. She’d be great in an apartment and walking on a leash. Except for her need for the special food she is the perfect dachshund. Please e-mail foster mom if you have any further questions.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
