Tori came to us from the humane society here in Montgomery, AL, where she was turned in by someone who found her wandering the street. When
I went to first see her she just came straight into my arms and cuddled in
my neck. Her right eye had been damaged and when I took her to the vet he said that it couldn't be saved (but this little girl would never be able to tell she only has one eye!) She loves to play fetch with her tennis ball or cuddle in the chair with you (while she gives you a few kisses). She is very smart and is working very hard on house training (she is crate trained), and we have only had one accident this week. She is UTD on shots, spayed and on Interceptor. She has been fine with children and cats. This little angel just wants a home where she can cuddle and then have someone to throw (or roll) her a ball, so if that is what you have been looking for in a little baby heartbreaker---then you are a perfect match!
Out of State and Canadian adopters please read "Read Before you Adopt" for special instructions. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue.

More about TORI....NY

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
