BIO:

Truman is a fun dog. He loves to play with the other dogs and his dog toys.  He is pretty active and likes to play outside also. He would be a fun dog to take hiking in the woods or just a walk around the neighborhood. He also enjoys hanging out with you on the couch. Truman does not like being crated. He is doing well going outside and going potty but hasn’t mastered it quite yet. Truman is a good little watch dog. He likes car rides and just being around people. He is very food motivated and has a keen sense of smell. Truman is a curious dog with a sweet and funny personality.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
