BIO

This is Toby! All I can say is WOW. He is a bundle of puppy! He likes to suck on blankets or my clothes like he's nursing. He is now 8 months old but he is very much a baby. He has a lot of maturing to do. But he is smart is doing well with potty training when taken out regularly. Sleeps well in his kennel at night (since we are still working on the potty training) loves treats and just laying in your lap or playing with my other dogs. He enjoys meal time and naps very well. If you are looking for a pup to raise look no further.... Toby just might be your man! He likes to be rubbed on and petted. Also likes to play tug of war and chew kongs or balls. Very active little guy!

More about Toby...LA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
