BIO

Tramp is a playful pup that loves to hang with his brothers and sisters.  He started ‘singing’ at a very early age…especially in his sleep or while he was nursing.  Tramp and Lady were often found sleeping wrapped up in each other.  Tramp is very much the gentleman of the group.  He has beautiful markings too.  He is the first one to attempt climbing out of the bathtub (probably edged on by Presley and Lacie) yet he’s also the first one to rush to Lady’s side should the others start getting rough with her.  He’s a gentle old soul who loves a soft bed made out of his siblings and a fresh dish of salmon.

Tramp’ mom was dropped off at a shelter the day before she gave birth.  AADR rescued the mom and pups the next day and took them directly to their foster home.  Tramp is part of the litter that includes Elvis, Presley, Lady, Tramp, Cagnie and Lacie.

Tramp is young and will need to be trained how to sit, stay and any other behaviors the adopting household views as important.

A loving home with humans who have experience with training a puppy and who committed to nurturing this young life and to provide an environment where he can exercise and learn all the world has to offer him.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
