BEING FOSTERED IN LA.......

Sweet Pea is a cute 2 yr old red smooth mini female. She only weighs about 9 lbs. Her former owner was an elderly woman that could no longer keep her because of living arrangements. Sweet Pea is very shy when first meeting her, but after a treat or two, she warms up nicely. Sometimes she will remain slightly fearful. She was diagnosed with a very mild case of megaesophugus which requires only that she be free fed small, dry kibble. She likes playing with other dogs but is not used to being around children or cats. Sweet Pea would enjoy a quite home that is willing to love her for the rest of her life. Are you the special home that she is looking for?

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
