Meet Buddy!

Buddy came to us when his owner passed and their family members did not have time or room for him.

Mr. Buddy is a great little man & would do perfect in any home. In true doxie style he loves to cuddle next to you under a warm soft blanket. He doesn’t care young or old as long as you will let him cuddle, he is THERE!!! He likes to be carried around like a baby, laying on his back staring up at you with his piercing eyes. He loves his daily walks so someone that would walk him would be GREAT! He rides great in a car! Completely potty trained to a doggie door! Loves his foster brothers & sisters! He does bark when someone knocks at the door, but hey he is just telling them to “Come on in!” Buddy doesn’t know a stranger, he loves everyone equally. Buddy also loves to follow his foster mom around the house & just watch over her to make sure all is well, what a nice little guy!!

The only “issue” that Mr. Buddy has is that he has some food aggression towards dogs, NOT HUMANS!! Because of this we feed him in a crate, but he is completely fine with that, when dinner time rolls around he is running to his crate & waiting patiently on his bowl.

If you think that you could give this southern gentleman the forever home he SO deserves please fill out an online application.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

More about Buddy 5...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
