BEING FOSTERED IN NY STATE.....

OSCAR M. was found wandering down a country road in rural TN. He was picked up by a good samartian and taken home. They tried to find a good home for him but were afraid that they couldn't find one so they contacted SSDR. We picked him up the next day and took him to the vet. Other than being under-weight he looked great and was very healthy. He is now UTD and ready for his new home. He loves to cuddle with the foster daddy and gets along with all the other dogs and cats and small kids. If you are interested in a buddy that will follow you everywhere then OSCAR M. is the one for you. Any questions please feel free to e mail. He does appear to be housebroken at least with the doggie door.
Out of State and Canidian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arranements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
