BIO:
Sparkle lives up to her name by way of her personality. She is calm but will play with other dogs. Loves a lap to lie on but will sleep on the couch all night or in your bed which ever you prefer.
Sparkle came from a very rural shelter in SC. We were told she was pregnant and to say that was an understatement. We were contacted and told she was dachshund but when our member got there she could see that she was a dachshund mix but very pregnant. We made up our mind we were not leaving her there and a very good thing. In 24 hours she gave birth to 10 very healthy babies. We are in the process of finding all her babies wonderful new families but her time to find one will have to wait a bit longer. Unfortunately she tested heartworm positive and is being treated and will be ready to go to her new home the middle of February but that doesn’t mean we can’t start looking for the right home for her now. By the time we get the right family approved it’ll only be a short couple weeks before she can go home.
Sparkle really does shine like a diamond, she’s housebroken, crate trained, leash trained and loves people, what a find she’ll be for the right family. While she does walk great on a leash we’d like to see her have a fenced in yard to call her own. After all her neglect we really want the best for this little girl.
She’s ready to give you all her love and devotion, are you ready for a new best friend?
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we cannot adopt to anyone in that state either.
Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
