BIO:  Moses came into rescue as a stray. He is a typical puppy, loves to play with the other dogs and chew his favorite toys. He minds very well if he is told “no”. He is working on housebreaking and doing well, picking it up from the other dogs and with the warmer weather that is helping him to want to be outside more. He would need to go to a home with another dog and a fenced in yard.

Moses is not going to be a mini but probably a big tweenie or maybe even a small standard. He’s 8 lbs now and loves to eat but he’s a growing boy. He won’t be going to his forever home until after his second set of puppy shots and then he can go home but the adopter will have to get his third and final set of shots. He’s had his rabies and been neutered.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
