BIO:  Tucker #6 is a happy boy and loves to play but he also likes to be in your lap.  Tucker loves exploring the big fenced yard and chasing butterflies. He likes to hide under bushes and scare his siblings. For sure he needs a young buddy he can pal around with when he goes to his forever home. One that is young enough to keep up with his puppy ways.

Tucker and his brothers plus mom came from a cruelty case in Eastern KY.  The shelter that had them felt it was best to put them in the hands of a rescue and we said we’d be happy to help. Tucker and his brothers Tollie, Tomas  and Trevor are all looking for loving forever homes. If you are interested in Tucker please fill out an application and get in touch with his foster mom.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Tucker #6..DE

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
